Just watching them
Out on my balcony, the summer night is thick and warm. Down in the courtyard, I can hear laughter and the clinking of glasses. Someone’s BBQ, I guess. The sound drifts up, happy and easy, and I just sit here, the air still and heavy around me, watching the lights from their windows glow.
